Butchers
Kitsilano’s own Jackson’s Meats & Deli is unique from its competition in that it is the oldest Meat Market in Vancouver – although it did disappear for a couple years giving Market Meats a chance to establish itself down the street on West 4th.
Jackson’s boasts six generations of butchers starting in England in 1856 and has been a part of Vancouver’s heritage since 1911. Because Jackson’s has the advantage of being the most well-known Meat store in Vancouver, it has an established and loyal clientele.
But now Kitsilano is home to four great butchers. In the past year not one, but two new butchers shops have opened in Kitsilano to give Jackson’s and Market Meats a little competition.
