Greek Day on Broadway Returns to Kitsilano This Sunday

One of Kitsilano’s most beloved summer traditions is taking over West Broadway this weekend.

Greek Day on Broadway returns on Sunday, June 28, bringing a full day of food, music, dancing, family activities, and community celebration to the heart of Vancouver’s Greektown.

Now marking its 52nd anniversary, the annual street festival will run from 11am to 9pm along West Broadway between Macdonald and Blenheim. For one day, the busy corridor will be transformed into a pedestrian-friendly celebration of Greek culture, with the sights, sounds, and flavours that have made the event a fixture in Kitsilano for generations.

Organizers are promising a lively lineup of authentic Greek cuisine, live entertainment, traditional dance performances, family-friendly activities, and an Agora marketplace featuring artisan goods, Greek products, and local vendors.

For many attendees, the food is the first stop. Expect familiar favourites like souvlaki and baklava alongside other Greek dishes served throughout the day. The festival will also feature live music and dance performances, offering visitors a chance to experience the energy and rhythm of Greek culture without leaving the neighbourhood.

Greek Day on Broadway has long been more than a street party. The event celebrates the history of West Broadway as a centre of Greek community life in Vancouver, while welcoming residents and visitors of all backgrounds to take part in the tradition.

This year’s edition also puts a spotlight on the generations of volunteers, vendors, performers, families, and community members who have helped keep the festival going for more than five decades.

Whether you’re reconnecting with your roots, introducing kids to Greek culture, or simply looking for a lively neighbourhood outing, Greek Day offers an easy reason to spend Sunday on Broadway.
