Kitsilano Pool, a summer staple in Vancouver, won’t open on May 18 as planned due to unexpected repairs, according to the Vancouver Park Board.
The pool’s reopening has been delayed because necessary warm and dry weather conditions haven’t been met.
Aiming for a June reopening, the Park Board acknowledged the pool’s significance to the community and assured efforts for a safe opening.
The pool, over 50 years old, suffers from age-related deterioration and storm damage.
While no exact date is set, the goal is to welcome swimmers next month.
