One year after being damaged by fire, Kitsilano’s popular Robba da Matti is closing for good.

Located at 1898 West 1st Avenue, the restaurant is known for its fresh pasta and focuses on traditional Italian dishes, including handmade pasta, risotto, and, antipasto.

Robba da Matti’s owners announced on social media that the restaurant and Passaparola Burrata Bar, which operates upstairs, will be closing due to unforeseen family problems.

The Kitsilano location was Robba da Matti’s fourth location. The original location is in Yaletown (orginally called Yaletown L’Antipasto) and they also have locations in the West End and Gastown.

For those of you that have been in Kits for awhile, you’ll remember the location on West 1st as the long-time home of Italian eatery Epicurean Caffe, which had opened back in 1993.
