Exercising in Vancouver has reached cultish levels of devotion: whether it’s a high tempo spin class, hot yoga or ballet-inspired barre, the health-conscious are incredibly loyal to their chosen regimens.
The fanciest new gyms and studios cater to those who treat their daily fitness rituals like a religion, but where do you start if you’re not a regular… yet.
Here are three of the neighbourhood’s swankiest places to sweat it out. And they all have great offers for new members so that you can go hard for a month before making the place your own.
Yyoga
Yyoga has a wicked deal for newbies. A starter pack for $49 which includes 3 classes. Of course, this is a one-time offer which activates upon first use and expires 30 days from activation. There is no contract agreement required, but it is not eligible for refund, transfer, hold, extension, or re-start. Yyoga classes include YHot, YRide, Power, Flow, Hatha, and more.

Method Indoor Cycling
Method doesn’t offer a first class for free but they do have a new rider special – $140 for 30 days of unlimited cycling (capped at 50 rides). Method’s drop-in price is $25 per class, so if you get in the habit of riding regularly in month #1 you’ll get way more than your money’s worth. The new rider special can only be bought in studio and you can get it before your first class or after one regular drop-in.
