Warm, balmy weather. In Vancouver, no less! Enjoy it while it lasts, and perhaps enjoy it with one of the following drinks in hand, from fancy cocktails, to craft beer and top wine.

AnnaLena

Modern AnnaLena has a gorgeous bar to sit at, and the whimsical decor is perfectly suitable as a conversation starter if you’re here on a date or an awkward business meeting. Try The Dutchess cocktail, made with local Wallflower gin, vanilla, kalamansi, lemon, and peach foam. Or the Pushing Luck, made with bourbon, cynar (an Italian bitter liqueur), maple lemon, plum & rootbeer bitters, egg white, and riches. AnnaLena makes a few non-alcoholic cocktails, too, and they have a well-curated wine list, and, of course, their food menu is absolutely fantastic – their tasting menu is well worth it.

Darby’s Pub

You simply can’t beat Darby’s rooftop patio during this nice sunny weather, and it’s even better with a refreshing beer. Darby’s has 32 craft, imported, and domestic beers on tap, so there’s plenty of choice. Enjoy the consistently good 33 Acres beer on special on Sunday nights, specifically the Echo beer – a seasonal blonde India Session Ale, with notes of citrus and pine, and a smooth finish.

L’ufficio

La Quercia’s sister restaurant, L’ufficio, is a classic and casual Italian wine bar with some of the best, you got it, Italian wines available in the city. Arranged by region – Northern, Central, Southern – the Barolo (from the north) could be the best wine you’ve ever had, and, the older, the better, but that goes without saying, right?
