Vancouverites that frequent the Burrard Street Bridge are well aware of the fatal car accident that took a life earlier this week.

While the driver of the speeding Audi R8 was instantly killed, the two innocent bystanders that were in the Yellow Cab are dealing with multiple surgeries for life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Yellow Cab was Larry Claypool and his passenger was local Vancouver bartender Christan Zelichowski.

The tight-knit Vancouver restaurant community has rallied behind Christian and raised over $50,000 on GoFundMe to help with his medical expenses and recovery.

A similar GoFundMe page has now been created for Larry and friends are asking for your support as well.

Larry is a staple within Vancouver and many can attest to his level of compassion, friendliness and sheer care for his passengers, work and the city. He stands out within a city where there are far and few drivers that offer his genuinely personable character and good heart.

According to witness reports Larry did his best to save the two from the oncoming car and his quick reaction is probably why the two occupants are both alive today.

Larry is without any relatives here in Vancouver and is also in the hospital after multiple surgeries for his serious life-threatening injuries.
