City of Vancouver is looking for artists to decorate utility boxes

Are you a starving local artist? Here’s your chance. Vancouver artists can earn $1000 for designing a motif for city utility boxes. The deadline to submit a design is April 6. Why? Because they’re graffiti targets anyway. Public art is better. Vancouver will cover 27 boxes found in major intersections citywide with a vinyl wrap that features a print of an artist’s selected design. In 2015 the City ran a successful pilot in the West End, and this year’s projects will be rolled out in partnership with business improvement associations.
