If you keep one New Year’s resolution, let it be this one. The annual Vancouver Polar Bear Swim returns January 1, 2015. Its been going down every year since 1920. How to participate? Head to English Bay Beach (1790 Beach Avenue) on he first day of the new year. The nippy ice water dip takes place at 2:30pm. Since thousands participate, you’ll probably want to be a bit early. Registration begins at 12:30 at English Bay Bathhouse.
It’s free to freeze your tuckus off. Some even find it fun. We hear it’s a good hangover cure.
Bring a non-perishable food item or cash donation for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank and Cactus Club Café will give you a free coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.
