Wondering what was going into that renovated hole next to Nimby Burger on Yew? It’s going to be another Nook restaurant. Nook is not a chain. It’s a local Italian joint in the West End that’s looking to expand to one more location. Nook specializes in Italian small plates, pasta and pizza. They were around before the authentic Neapolitan pizza wave of 2011-2012. Expect antipasti (killer salami) and crostini with toppings including whipped ricotta and honey and white bean and olive tapenade. The pizza menu is standard; the housemade meatballs you can add on top are superb. I’ve never tried the pasta, but you can browse the full menu here.
