Woman robbed near Kits Beach

The Province newspaper is reporting that the Vancouver Police are investigating an early morning robbery in Kitsilano.

A 24-year-old woman was walking at the intersection of Yew Street and York Avenue, two blocks south of Kitsilano Beach, just before 1:00am this morning when she was approached from behind by a man. The man, whose face was partly obscured by his jacket, demanded money from the woman.

After the woman gave up an undisclosed amount cash, the man fled on foot, heading eastbound on Cornwall Avenue. Police searched the area with a canine dog, but did not find the man.

He is described as five foot seven inches, about 160 to 170 lb., clean-cut with dark skin, a round face, and short brown hair. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black hoodie with possible red markings and black pants.
