As part of the 2010 Canadian Culinary Book Awards, Cuisine Canada announced that culinary maven Elizabeth Baird is receiving their Founders Award and Kitsilano’s own chef John Bishop has been awarded the Edna Award (named after the late food writer Edna Staebler).

In 1996, Cuisine Canada inaugurated a lifetime achievement award given that year to Edna Staebler and named in perpetuity The Edna. Since then, the award has been given every two years to an individual who has contributed to the promotion of regional cuisine and who exemplifies the region through his or her work.

A complete list of the prize-winners can be found on the Cuisine Canada blog. Congrats to John Bishop on the award!
