Westside corner store sells winning $50 Million ticket

A Westside corner store says their location sold the winning ticket to last night’s $50 million Lotto Max jackpot.

Sunil Aroa of the Mac’s store at Broadway and Hemlock told News1130 the lucky person a man in his late 50’s, who regularly buys his lottery tickets from their store.

Aroa says the man came into his store today to check his ticket, and had to call a hotline. “They talked to [the man] who won… He was very surprised. He couldn’t believe that he won the jackpot.”

Aroa tells us the man was in complete shock, and said he needed to go home to let reality sink in. “I photocopied the validation slip, and we’re telling every customer that comes through the store that a customer has won the lotto.”

The BC Lottery Corporation has not yet released the winner’s name.

You’re really stretching the imagination to say Broadway at Hemlock is in Kits!
    Only realtors would do that.

Yeah, no, South Granville for sure. Still, it’s a story. I’m never going to buy a lottery ticket there again. I guess that actually makes about as much sense as only buying lottery tickets there. Or buying lottery tickets at all…
