Kitsilano.ca reader to throw First Pitch at Canadians Game

The Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club is hosting a series of Community Appreciation Nights this summer at Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium and they have set aside their game against the Eugene Emeralds on Wednesday, July 21st as “Kitsilano Night”.

The marketing team at the Canadians offered Kitsilano.ca the chance to throw the ceremonial first pitch and we passed the once in a lifetime opportunity along to our readers in a contest.  And the winner is Sheila who wrote:

My grandfather joined the Vancouver Fire Dept. in the 1920s because they needed a backcatcher on their baseball team. My great-uncle pitched to Babe Ruth when he visited Vancouver. I’d love to continue the family tradition.

Congrats to Sheila! Do Kitsilano proud.
