If you’re a chocolate aficionado, you have to check out Monde Chocolat at Burrard and West 8th. It is an edible gallery of all things chocolate specializing in Single Origin and Estate chocolates. Who knew that there was such a thing as Estate chocolates??
Monde Chocolat differs from most chocolate boutiques in that it carries both its own brand and the creations of highly regarded chocolatiers from around the world. Inspired by their own passion for chocolate and the European “chocolateries”, co-founders Fabiana Makon-Flores & Karlo Flores teamed up to create a local Vancouver chocolate haven and Monde Chocolat launched open its doors in June.
Carrying one of the largest selections of single origin chocolate bars on the West Coast as well as an extensive line of organic, Fair Trade chocolate and Equitable Trade chocolates, Monde Chocolat has quickly made a name for itself in the Chocosphere. Check out this world class line-up of brands that I’ve never heard of: Amedei (Italy), Bon Bona (Canada), Camille Bloch (Belgium), Chocovic (Spain), Michel Cluizel (France), Galerie de Chocolat (Canada), Pralus (France), Republica del Cacao (Ecuador), Schokinag (Germany), Chocolat Stella (Switzerland), Terra Nostra Organics (Canada), Theo (USA), and Zotter (Austria). Cadbury and Hersey’s are noticably absent.
