It’s a sad day in Kitsilano – Moderne Burger on West Broadway went up in flames last night. This retro diner made a serious name for itself in the neighbourhood. Their deluxe platter with a cherry coke always hit the spot. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire — they’ve ruled out faulty wiring on their electronic cash register and Interac machine… because they didn’t have either. I’ve been there a couple of times with no cash in my wallet and the owner just told be to swing by and pay later when I had some cash. This place was old school! We’ll miss you Moderne Burger.
