Kitsilano’s Billy Bishop/Kerrisdale Branch 176 is inviting the community to celebrate the Royal Canadian Legion’s 100th anniversary with a full day of activities on Saturday, July 18.
Running from noon until 11:00 pm, the centennial celebration will offer visitors an opportunity to learn about the Legion’s history, community involvement and ongoing support for veterans.
The family-friendly afternoon will feature games, face painting, balloons, free ice cream, donuts and coffee, along with museum tours, movies and popcorn. A barbecue, bingo, trivia, a meat draw and items for sale will also be offered throughout the day.
The evening will continue with live music from the Blueshawk Band, giving neighbours another reason to visit the longtime Kits Point gathering place.
The celebration takes place at Billy Bishop/Kerrisdale Legion Branch 176, located at 1407 Laburnum Street.
