Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) is back for its 2025 summer season with a sweet and spirited pairing: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Legally Blonde The Musical will run on alternating nights from June 27 to August 16 at Stanley Park’s iconic Malkin Bowl.

A cherished Vancouver summer tradition since 1940, TUTS brings Broadway to the outdoors, drawing thousands each year to enjoy high-energy musicals under the night sky.

This season’s production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory brings Roald Dahl’s fantastical world to life with a mix of classic songs from the beloved 1971 film—like “The Candy Man” and “Pure Imagination”—and new numbers created for the stage. The production is directed by Peter Jorgensen, returning to the TUTS stage two decades after starring in Big: The Musical, with choreography by Keri Minty and musical direction by Sean Bayntun, back for his third consecutive season.

On alternating nights, Elle Woods takes the stage in a pink-powered return of Legally Blonde The Musical. Last seen at TUTS in 2014, this award-winning show is known for its upbeat score, empowering message, and witty charm. Director Jayme Armstrong, a TUTS alum from Kiss Me, Kate! and Oklahoma!, teams up with choreographer Lyndsey Britten and music director Eliza De Castro, continuing her rising trajectory with TUTS after leading last year’s School of Rock.

Early bird tickets are on sale through June 11, starting at $35. For full performance schedule and to purchase tickets, visit tuts.ca.
