The old Burgoo space on West 4th will soon be home to a new restaurant and we all should be excited.

According to Scout Magazine, Chef Bardia Ilbeiggi – formerly of South Granville’s Farmer’s Apprentice and Gastown’s L’Abattoir – will be opening his first restaurant at 2272 West 4th Avenue.

Inspired by his Iranian heritage, Ilbeiggi is calling it Delara which translates from Farsi as “she who brings beauty to hearts.”

With 60 seats and 2,400 square feet to work with, Ilbeiggi has hired interior designer Carmen Cheung to transform the space “from dark to light.”

Delara will be open for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch service. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.

I find it hard to get excited about Iranian food comprising as it does a few paltry combinations of meat with meat and a side order of meat (Onions available by special order only).
