The Vancouver Maritime Museum is hosting the Arctic Awards Gala on Thursday, October 18th.
The festive evening includes The Northwest Passage Hall of Fame award ceremony, the unveiling of an exhibition on the history of arctic exploration, delicious food, a cash bar, live entertainment and music, plus a silent auction with great prizes.
Last year, the Vancouver Maritime Museum organized the inauguration of the Northwest Passage Hall of Fame Awards Gala. Through this wonderful event the VMM celebrates and commemorates the men, women, vessels and expeditions of the Northwest Passage. During the evening nominees for various categories will be awarded.
The Vancouver Maritime Museum is home of the RCMP vessel St. Roch. The St. Roch was the first vessel in history to sail from the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean via the Northwest Passage (NWP, 1940-1942), and the first vessel to sail the more northerly, deep water Northwest Passage route and the first vessel to circumnavigate North America (1950).
Tickets are $95 per person and available online. All proceeds support our educational and public programs and the preservation of our collections. Dress code is formal with 1940s’ style encouraged.
