This Sunday, December 31st, ring in the newest year at one of these local spots in our Kitsilano neighbourhood. Cheers!

Pubs & Bars

Darby’s is an easy option for the big night. They are hosting a Beer Lovers Party this year, featuring limited releases on tap, board games, and big beer prizes. Reservations are recommended. Darby’s will also offer a Hair of the Dog New Year’s Day Brunch and if you bring your ticket from their new year’s eve party you’ll get a delicious Eggs Benny and a Caesar for just $10.

The local neighbourhood bar, The Bimini, will have live music by local rock and pop band Phazers On Stun. Drink deals will include $4 local craft beers, $6 glasses of sparkling wine (or $30 for the whole bottle). The night will also have a balloon-drop-midnight-countdown for those still standing. Doors open at 9pm and the show starts at 10pm. Tickets are required and cost $20.

The Cove has a “Two Can Dine” New Year’s Eve dinner and drinks deal which includes a bottle of Peller Estates Family Series wine, all for $45. Choose any two menu items (including from their fresh sheet) and a bottle of wine, then enjoy party favours and complimentary bubbly at midnight. There’s no cover charge either.

Join the friendly Irish folks at The Wolf & Hound pub for live Celtic music by Lucky Pennys and plenty of good beer this NYE with the show starting at 9pm. No cover charge.

Restaurants

One of the city’s best restaurants, AnnaLena, is featuring a lavish, 9-course menu for $94 per person for NYE. There are still a few spots left so make your reservations soon.

For families with young kids not making it till midnight, Rocky Mountain Flatbread has the perfect solution – a festive, pizza-making party starting at 4pm until about 8:30pm. The night will include a three-course dinner, balloon twisting, face painting, and an early NYE countdown. The cost is $20 per child and $25 per adult. Reservations are required.
