After losing it to Kerrisdale for the past six years, Fab Clothing is finally back where it belongs in Kitsilano at 2151 West 4th Avenue, and it’s with a whole new look.
Fab, Premium Denim was the spot known around the city for carrying the widest selection of brand name jeans from 2000-2007. After an overhaul while living in Kerrisdale, the current shop, which opened just two months ago on West 4th, now carries one brand of jeans – Flying Monkey, priced at $129 – amidst a vast array of beautiful, affordable clothing.
Hand-picked by owners Andrea and Yoel, the clothing at Fab is trendy, spunky, and eye-catching. 90% of the shop is priced at under $100, so that you can pick up an entire new outfit without breaking the bank. Targeted at the mid-20 woman and up (“the Aritzia mom”), with everything from casual to evening wear, the curated selection is dizzying. With dozens of printed dresses, flowy tops, crystal bracelets, and patterned scarves, it’s hard to know what to grab off the rack first.
Luckily, the store prides itself on its customer service so you’re sure to have some guidance as you’re spoiled by choice. The best part about Fab is the ambiance in the shop. The decor, music, displays, and sales associates create a welcoming atmosphere that turns an errand or a mindless browse into a complete experience. Andrea and Yoel tell us that they’ve been welcomed back into the neighbourhood with open arms, and they certainly embrace their customers with the same attitude.
We dare you to walk into Fab and walk out without a shopping bag. We know we’ll be heading back soon to pick up some more pieces for summer weddings and festivals. It’s hard to stay away.
