Kitsilano has some of the best brunch spots in the city – and recently, the neighbourhood welcomed another local gem: popular breakfast diner Deacon’s Corner. The original Vancouver shop is on Main and Alexander. The Kitsilano location sits on Broadway and Trutch, in the old Shack location.
With very fair prices and large plates, Deacon’s serves up Southern style comfort food, all-day breakfast, and prides itself of being the “home of the hangover breakfast”. Inspired by the original Deacon’s Corner on the Trans Canada Highway outside of Winnipeg, Deacon’s has kept true to the truck stop diner’s original mission: serve hearty house made food and generous portions.
The all-day breakfast menu includes everything from Carolina pulled pork and pancakes, to classic bennys and scrambles. Deacon’s also has separate lunch and dinner menus. Some notable specials include homemade pies and southern friend chicken buckets.
