All that pink petal confetti from 90,000 flowering trees makes us want to party. The rest of Vancouver agrees. That’s why the city goes all out for Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival, April 2-29. It’s a long festival, so which Vancouver community events should you attend? We break down your best options below.
A rioutous, free live musical performance to kick off the festival with Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra performers, a ukelele group, a taiko drummer, an electric guitar and a yo-yo champion. Mogu Japanese Street Eats and Blue Smoke BBQ food trucks will be parked on Dunsmuir to feed hungry attendees special cherry blossom themed items.
Let the celebrations begin this spring with an extraordinary dining experience hosted by sushi all star Tojo and featuring Japanese cuisine created by Tojo’s Restaurant, Zen Japanese Restaurant, Hapa Izakaya, The RawBar at Fairmont Pacific Rim, Miku Restaurant as well as Zakkushi and Bella Gelateria.
