Other resorts, like Mount Washington Alpine Resort, a Vancouver Island ski resort, have yet to open at all due to a lack of snow. But Mount Washington found a clever solution for its season pass holders, sending them to Whistler to get a taste of powder.

The resort has negotiated a deal that will allow their customers to ski and board for free at Whistler Blackcomb starting on today and continuing until the end of the month.

This time last year, the resort had about 350 centimetres of snow at its mid-mountain baseline, but this year it only has about 20 centimetres.
