Novo Pizzeria launches fall Wine Club series

I’ve been ordering Novo Pizzeria’s take-out Neapolitan pies for a year now. And my mother and I love the Monday night dinner and a movie deal with neighbouring Fifth Avenue Cinemas ($49 includes dinner for two plus movie tickets). But somehow Novo’s Wine Club got past me.

The first Wine Club event took place Sept. 26 and I heard from a friend that it was a smashing success. The next Novo Wine Club event goes down Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 7:30pm. Novo has partnered with with Tommasi Wines and will feature 5 wines paired with antipasti (like their highly-hyped Sicilian meatballs).

Founded in 1902, Tommasi is located in Pedemonte village in the heart of Valpolicella Classico region. The estate is run by the 4th generation of the Tommasi family.

Peruse the Novo Wine Club menu below:

  • Tommasi, Arele: Intense aromas of cherry, plum, and herbs
  • Tommasi Ripasso: Subtle black cherry, boysenberry with aromatic ground spices
  • Rompicollo: 60% Sangiovese; 40% Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Tommasi, Vermentino: A knockout Tuscan white.

  • Grilled Octopus Salad
  • Burrata Appetizer
  • Selection of cheese,
    salamis, house bread,
    marinated vegetables
  • Sicilian Meatballs
  • Cashew Pesto Gnocchi
  • Dessert: a surprise

Tickets are $45 + HST and are available on the website or by calling Carmine @ (604) 729-0216

  1. I think that the tote would make a wonderful gift, along with a bottle of wine;) Can’t wait to read more about this club…sounds wonderful! The pictures of that wine look perfect, it is making me crave a glass at 11 a.m.!
