Janelle introduced Kitsilano.ca readers to West 4th newcomer O5 Tea Bar and the responses were mixed. Some readers fell hard for the terroir-tea concept, others “didn’t get it.” If you’re a believer, this series of events is for you.
Kale & Nori has teamed up with Pedro Villalon, “tea hunter” and owner of O5 Tea, on a Tea Cocktail & Tapas Workshop. According to Scout, this event is the ultimate how-to for using hand-foraged, obsessively-sourced teas and applying the properties of “terroir” to food and beverage.
The Tea Cocktail & Tapas Workshop is a monthly event focusing on a different tea region each time. The first event takes place Wednesday, Oct. 17 at O5 from 6-9pm, and uses tea from the Yunnan region. Tea cocktails will be made by Kale & Nori mixologist Lauren Mote, tapas by chef Jonathan Chovancek. Tix are $50.
