Have you ever thought about taking a cooking class or learning some knife skills? Kitsilano Community Centre’s new chef Mark Halyk is offering a variety of gastronomic workshops starting this April, aimed at making you a better cook.

Mark brings a wealth of experience from a career in the Four Seasons Hotel chain, as well as his own Catered Art catering company. Courses offered range from knife skills, easy appetizers, bread making, pastries, BBQ, vegetarian and he even offers classes for the kids.

These workshops are being offered in the new Community Kitchen which also helps to feed the homeless as part of the Saturday Shower Program, gives youth a place to learn new skills on Friday afternoons and has programs for seniors and special needs.

For more information go to the Kitsilano Community Centre website (look for the Spring 2009 PDF  brochure )or call 604.257.6976.
