Piato Estiatorio impresses

1936

Opening night jitters aside, Kitsilano’s newest Greek restaurant is a hit. Piato Estiatorio on West 4th Avenue has worked out the kinks and the joint was hopping tonight.

Our reservations landed us in the middle of a packed restaurant and there wasn’t a blue & white checkered tablecloth in sight. Whitewashed walls and brick set Piato’s interior apart from all the other Greek eateries in Vancouver and the menu doesn’t disappoint. While familiar Greek dishes like souvlaki and moussaka find a home, every classic feels like it has experienced an extreme makeover with fresh ingredients and a dash of fusion.

For those of you that can’t go without the obligatory tzatziki and/or hummus with pita bread to start. Order yourself the Piato Dip. One word – trifection.
