The Canadian Network for International Surgery (CNIS), hosts their annual African Market this Saturday, September 6th, at their Vancouver office (1985 West Broadway @ Maple).
There will be African music, food, crafts, and more, all in an effort to promote African culture and raise awareness and funds for the important work that CNIS does:
CNIS activities includes injury prevention through the Injury Control Center in Uganda and through the Injury Prevention Initiative for Africa in 8 African Countries and another supports surgical libraries.
Injury Deaths account for more than 5 million deaths worldwide. Globally, this is more than HIV, Malaria and Tuberculosis combined. 13% of Africans will die an injury related death.
The African market is from 10am until 4pm.
