For some reason DOV always conjured up images of chaos and unpleasantness, and not worth the trouble. We know better now. Granted, we had to get our reservation a couple of weeks ahead of time, but the whole experience was pretty much smooth sailing and a lot of fun.
As for dinner, it was fantastic. Gastropod’s menu looked by far the most interesting and inspired compared to some of the restaurants that we considered, and we weren’t disappointed. I didn’t know you could cook pork for 36 hours and make it taste this great! Kitsilano is truly blessed with the restaurants on West 4th’s gastroblock (Bistrot Bistro, Fuel, and Gastropod) and it will be very difficult to choose which one to go back to first.
