VPD alert after abduction attempt on 11-year-old boy in Kitsilano

Vancouver Police are issuing an alert after the attempted abduction of an 11-year-old boy in Kitsilano on Tuesday.

The boy was walking alone at about 4:30 p.m. in the area of Collingwood and West 11th Avenue when he was approached by a man who tried to grab him. The boy ran and got help from a nearby resident. The suspect is a Caucasian in his 60s, about five feet seven to five feet 10 inches and overweight. He was wearing a white or grey long-sleeved shirt and what may have been white pants.
