Mintage Vintage Coming to Kits
As Jay noted in a comment here, store closures are invariably followed by store openings. Sometimes it may take a while, but in general, retail space gets snapped up pretty quickly.
Baby’s World closed down its Vancouver satellite store on West 4th (1946 @ Cypress) a while ago – they have a great warehouse out in Coquitlam still – and it looks like a new tenant is about to open up shop. The awnings have recently been replaced, and revealed that Mintage Vintage will open a Kits location. They currently have a location on the Drive (1714 Commercial Drive @ East 1st) and in Gastown (320 West Cordova Street @ Cambie). The Gastown location will close and “move” to Kits.
If you want to get a taste of what Mintage has to offer, the Gastown location is having a major moving sale on October 18 & 19. A “fill a bag with all the clothing you like for $5″ sale. Should be fun.
