Kitsilano is getting a dose of disco this September when ABRA Cadabra brings its ABBA Dance Party to the Hollywood Theatre.
The internationally touring ABBA tribute band will take over the West Broadway venue on Sunday, September 13, transforming the theatre into a dance floor for an evening of live music, sparkling costumes and ’70s nostalgia.
The show features a full live band, vocalists, dancers, multimedia effects and multiple costume changes. Fans can expect favourites including “Dancing Queen,” “Mamma Mia,” “Waterloo,” “Fernando,” “SOS” and more.
ABRA Cadabra has performed the music of ABBA for more than 20 years, building its shows around the Swedish group’s unmistakable melodies and upbeat stage energy. Unlike a traditional seated tribute concert, the Hollywood Theatre event invites the audience onto the dance floor throughout the performance.
Doors open at 6:30pm, with the show beginning at 7:30pm. General-admission tickets are $59, and groups of 10 or more receive a 10 percent discount. The event is restricted to guests aged 19 and older.
