The Marketplace Kitsilano will mark the changing of the seasons with an Autumn Equinox Gathering on Sunday, September 28, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 2966 West 4th Avenue.
The event is designed as an immersive evening that blends ceremony, meditation, sound, and creativity to honour the equinox—a threshold between summer’s brightness and autumn’s reflective embrace.
Guests will begin with a cacao ceremony led by Scarlett Grae, setting intentions for the season ahead. Ashley Levi will then guide participants through a gentle meditation to encourage release and presence, before Blythe Hubbard carries the group into a live sound bath with her voice and sound bowls.
As the soundscape unfolds, attendees will be invited to work with clay, shaping simple vessels or altar pieces to serve as containers for personal intentions. The making process will continue in a self-guided flow, accompanied by Hubbard’s live music, fostering both creativity and quiet reflection.
Organizers describe the gathering as “more than a workshop,” framing it as a shared journey through seasonal transition. Participants will leave with both handcrafted clay pieces and what they call the “imprint of a meaningful evening in community.”
The event will take place outdoors, and guests are encouraged to dress for the weather. Spots are limited, and advance registration is required.
