Global talent and Canadian favourites to perform at Jericho Beach Park, July 18–20
The Vancouver Folk Music Festival is making its much-anticipated return to Jericho Beach Park this summer, with three nights of diverse musical performances set to light up the Mainstage from July 18 to 20.
“This year’s Mainstage lineup is nothing short of electric — a celebration of artistry, diversity, and the joy of shared experience,” said Fiona Black, Artistic Director of the Vancouver Folk Music Festival. “We’re thrilled to welcome international trailblazers like The Zawose Queens from Tanzania and Bab L’ Bluz from Morocco, alongside Canadian icons like Elisapie, Ocie Elliott, and Haram — one of Vancouver’s most daring and dazzling musical collectives.”
Kicking off the festival on Friday evening are performances by Vancouver’s own Haram, New York singer-songwriter Margaret Glaspy, Montreal’s Elisapie, and the genre-defying Tanzanian group The Zawose Queens.
Saturday offers a full day of music leading up to a standout evening on the Mainstage. Highlights include Scotland’s Shooglenifty and the special collaborative performance On the Beach: Neil Young Reimagined, featuring a rotating cast of festival artists. Victoria folk duo Ocie Elliott will also perform, with Moroccan-French rock duo Bab L’ Bluz closing out the night.
Sunday’s finale brings an equally compelling mix of international and North American talent, with North Carolina’s Watchhouse, Texas blues and gospel powerhouse Ruthie Foster, California’s The Milk Carton Kids, and British rock revivalists The Heavy Heavy.
“The lineup this year blends the traditional and the contemporary, the local and the global,” said Black. “It’s about community, connection, and the incredible power of live music in a natural setting.”
Early Bird single-day tickets for Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday are now available, along with discounted weekend passes.
