With blue skies and rising temperatures this weekend, here’s our list of what to do in Kitsilano over the next three glorious days.

Drink

Friday, May 26th

Sip exotic cocktails out on the patio of one of Kitsilano’s newest restaurants, Cacao, on West 1st and Cypress. Pair with fancy Latin American inspired tapas and good old face to face conversation. Word on the street says Cacao will be opening up their renovated upstairs lounge soon, too.

Play

Saturday, May 27th

After a night of too many delicious cocktails, start your day off clear-headed and refreshed by diving into the Kitsilano Pool first thing in the morning (it opens at 9am on the weekends). Then head to the Museum of Vancouver to view their current exhibit called The Vienna Model – a look at Austria’s world-class capital, its architecture, and how it copes with housing issues in comparison to our city. Afterwards, take a leisurely stroll through Vanier Park, then catch a flick at licensed Fifth Avenue Cinemas where all the latest blockbusters are playing right now (Maudie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Pirates of the Caribbean 5…or was it 15? Oh what does it matter).

Shop

Sunday, May 28th

Visit the Kitsilano Farmers Market from 10am-2pm for all things green and fresh including salad mixes, fiddle heads, cucumbers, sorrel, and seedlings. Then have a look at the West of Main Art Walk map to scout out the location of a local artists’ studio and have a chance to browse and, if you wish, purchase a piece of their work (open house studios are from 11am-5pm).
