Kits demographics
Ever wondered who exactly makes up Kitsilano? The folks over at the Vancouver Economic Development Comission gave us the facts in their recent commercial and neighbourhood reports on the Kitsilano 4th Avenue Business Improvement Area. Here’s some details:
Kitsilano is comprised of 47% men and 53% women
The average age for Kits residents is 38.1 years
The dominant age range is 25-34 years
The top five ethnic origins in order are English, Scottish, Canadian, Irish and German
64% of Kitsilano residents rent their homes
The average 2005 price for a townhouse residence in Kits was $635,914
I never would have guessed that Kits is comprised of significantly more residents with European heritage and significantly fewer residents with Asian heritage than either Vancouver or the GVRD. Bizarre.
If you’re considering starting a business in Kitsilano – the commercial reports are Gold.

Hello,
In your article on this website, it states that commercial reports are “gold” for people considering business opportunities in this area. What does that mean and how are the ratings structured? What determines it?
