Kitsilano art lovers have a reason to head east this fall as the Eastside Culture Crawl returns November 19–22, celebrating its 30th anniversary with four days of open studios and creative discovery.
More than 525 artists will welcome visitors into studios, workrooms, and galleries across East Vancouver, offering a chance to meet local makers and explore everything from painting and photography to jewellery, glasswork, textiles, and furniture. The self-guided event takes visitors inside the garages, warehouses, and studio buildings where the work takes shape.
This year’s milestone also comes with a new permanent home for organizer Eastside Arts Society at 716 East Hastings Street. The space will host P.A.R.T.Y. – Pushing Art diRectly To You, a juried preview exhibition featuring 75 artists, from November 5–28. An opening reception takes place November 5 from 6–8pm.
For West Side visitors, the preview exhibition offers a way to discover artists before planning a longer studio-hopping outing during Crawl weekend. Whether you’re browsing for inspiration or looking for a locally made holiday gift, the event provides an opportunity to connect directly with Vancouver’s creative community.
Studios will be open Thursday and Friday, November 19–20, from 5–10pm, and Saturday and Sunday, November 21–22, from 11am–6pm.
