Looking for a fresh cut this weekend? Westbeach is turning its new Kitsilano space into a pop-up barbershop.

From May 1 to 3, the newly reopened Westbeach location at 2138 West 4th Avenue is hosting a Barber Pop-Off, with Crowsnest Barbershop offering in-store cuts all weekend. The activation brings a lively, community feel to the space, blending grooming, music, and street culture.

There’s also a Cuts & Coldies Happy Hour on May 1 from 4pm to 8pm, featuring skate, ping pong, and cold beers.

The event marks an early highlight for Westbeach’s return to Kitsilano. The iconic Vancouver-born snowboard and surf-inspired brand—originally created by Chip Wilson—quietly reopened on West 4th late last year, bringing the label back to the neighbourhood where it first made its mark.

But this isn’t a typical retail store. The space is designed as a community clubhouse, complete with a skate ramp, coffee area, and curated displays of vintage Westbeach pieces dating back to 1979. The goal is to create a place where people can hang out as much as shop.
