A beloved Kitsilano summer tradition is set to return as the Kitsilano Showboat prepares to launch its 91st season of live outdoor entertainment.

Running from June 17th to August 23rd, 2026, the Kitsilano Showboat Theatre will once again host nightly performances from Wednesday through Sunday, bringing music, dance, and community programming to the waterfront near Kits Beach.

The long-running volunteer-driven venue has been a fixture in the neighbourhood for over nine decades, offering free entertainment in an open-air setting that draws both locals and visitors throughout the summer months.

This year’s season will also feature several special celebrations, including:

  • National Indigenous Peoples Day on Sunday, June 21st
  • Multicultural Day on Saturday, June 27th
  • Canada Day celebrations on Wednesday, July 1st

Organizers are currently inviting performers and volunteers to take part in the 2026 season. Those interested in joining the summer lineup or helping support the nightly shows can reach out via email at kitsilanoshowboat@hotmail.com to request an application.

With its mix of community spirit, diverse programming, and scenic oceanfront setting, the Kitsilano Showboat continues to be one of Vancouver’s most enduring summer traditions.
