La Ruota Kitsilano is serving up more than just slices next week with a community-focused pizza party aimed at raising awareness about global childhood food insecurity.

The free event takes place Tuesday, August 12, from 2pm to 3:30pm at La Ruota’s location at 2002 West 4th Avenue. Families can expect pizza fresh from the oven alongside activities including face painting, balloon art, family photos, and colouring stations.

Organizers anticipate 40 to 50 attendees, with space for walk-ins, and have secured an outdoor public area adjacent to the restaurant so guests can enjoy their pizza in the summer sun.

“Our goal is to bring the community together while shining a light on an important issue affecting children worldwide,” said Aaron, marketing manager for La Ruota Kitsilano.

While the event is free, registration is encouraged to help organizers plan for the number of guests.
