After months of anticipation, Kitsilano Pool is set to reopen this Saturday, June 21 — marking the official start of summer for Vancouver swimmers.

Perched beside the ocean with sweeping views of English Bay, Kitsilano Pool is Vancouver’s only saltwater swimming pool and one of the most beloved summer destinations in the city.

The pool will operate daily with scheduled sessions for both lap and public swimming. Length swimming is available from 7:00am to 8:30am, followed by four public swim sessions throughout the day:

  • 9:00am to 11:30am
  • 12:00pm to 2:30pm
  • 3:00pm to 5:30pm
  • 6:00pm to 8:30pm

While advance reservations are not required, they are strongly recommended. Limited spots will be held for drop-in swimmers, but space is not guaranteed without a booking.

Tickets can be purchased online through Showpass. For those who prefer to book by phone, Showpass Customer Service is available at 1-844-307-7469.

As one of the largest outdoor pools in North America — stretching 137 metres — Kits Pool offers a uniquely scenic swim experience that draws locals and visitors alike.

Saturday’s reopening will be a welcome return to tradition for many Vancouverites eager to cool off in the city’s only open-air saltwater pool.
