In March the City of Vancouver closed Vancouver Public Library (VPL) branches across the city to curb the potential spread of COVID-19.

This week VPL has launched a take-out service and the Kitsilano branch is participating.

While VPL still offered digital copies of some of its books during the COVID-19 pandemic, the library announced that it is offering this new option for those who want to get their hands on a hard copy.

Under the new system, books can only be picked up at select branches and library staff pick out the selections. Simply input your interests online (or by phone) and library staff will select books and movies for you to enjoy at home.

DVDs and Blu-rays are also available, and up to 10 items can be taken out on each card.
