If you’re a regular reader of Kitsilano.ca you may recall Patricia’s McCuaig’s piece on the Lost Streams of Kitsilano.

Well, one of those streams is about to be found.

The Vancouver Park Board is voting tomorrow on on restoring the historical stream in Volunteer and Tatlow parks.

According to the city, connecting the existing stream in Tatlow Park to English Bay will create an ecologically diverse stream corridor, improve access to the shoreline through new paths, and restore and enhance riparian and shoreline habitat for birds and other wildlife.

In 2018, the City conducted open houses on the project and displayed their plans for daylighting the stream.

i think this same project was done several years ago because a friend was involved. i was shocked to discover, after all was said and done, that the source for the revitalized ‘creek’ was the Vancouver water supply. i guess someone turned off the tap. might be cheaper to simply turn it back on.

i wonder what new discoveries lie within this proposal.
