May 5th to 11th marks Neighbourhood House Week in the lower mainland and Kitsilano Neighbourhood House is ready to celebrate it with you.
Join them at 2305 West 7th Avenue for a series of programs and events that you can enjoy membership-free.
What is a Neighbourhood House?
Think of a community center, minus the sports, and with ever changing programs that fit to each individual community’s needs. Kits House offers childcare programs, to family drop-ins, events to connect seniors, workshops from flamenco dancing to improv classes and much more.
Neighbourhood House Week
During Neighbourhood House Week, the 15 Neighbourhood Houses in the lower mainland band together to raise awareness of Neighbourhood Houses and everything they have to offer to the community through free events, BBQ’s, open houses and more.
Events Happening at Kits House
May 7th
- Seniors Drop-In Lunch | 2-for-1 Entry for $5 | 11am-1pm | Meet new people & enjoy a delicious in-house made lunch.
May 8th
- Family Drop-In | FREE | 10am–11:30am | Drop by with your kids aged 0-5 for some fun and social interaction.
- Seniors Friendship Circle | FREE | 1pm–3pm | Meet a supportive group of peers. Takes place at the SRC at 2425 Vine St.
- BBQ & Workshop | 5pm-7pm | Have some delicious barbeque and participate in a fun community conversation workshop.
May 9th
- Family Drop-In | 3pm–4:00pm | FREE | Drop by with your kids aged 0-5 for some fun and social interaction.
- Kits Cares Cafe | FREE | 5:30pm-7:30pm | Another completely free community meal for you to enjoy and bond over.
May 10th
- Family Drop-In | FREE | 10am–11:30am | Drop by with your kids aged 0-5 for some fun and social interaction.
- Knitting Circle | FREE | 1pm-3pm | Open to all ages and levels. Takes place at the SRC at 2425 Vine St.
May 11th
- Family Gym Time | FREE | 10am-11:30am | Drop by with our kids aged 0-5 for some fun, focused on motor development.
