It’s patio season, right? Whatever the weather this week, here’s our list of four excellent patios to hang out at in our Kitsilano neighbourhood.

Local

Partly covered and heated, the almost beachside patio at this spacious pub is great for big groups. Share the loaded nachos and drink the budget-friendly $5 glasses of mystery red or white wine.

Darby’s

For decades, Darby’s has been the local go-to pub, and their seasonal rooftop patio is just perfect for enjoying the local craft beers on tap. Their food menu is locally sourced from happy farms, and if you’re there on a Monday, go for the burger and BC craft beer steal at $10.95

Las Margaritas

It always feels like a party at Las Margaritas, and especially so when it’s a sunny day out on their big patio. It’s a kid and pet-friendly scenario outside, and the Southern California & the Baja-style Mexican fare is tasty and fun. Do not forget the requisite pitcher of strawberry margaritas.

49th Parallel Cafe

Lucky’s Doughnuts, plenty of bike parking, a light-filled glass covered patio perfect for rainy days, and of course, excellent coffee is what you’ll find at this busy West 4th coffee shop. To try: pair a classic Long John (a vanilla cream filled pastry topped with chocolate ganache and lines of white chocolate) with a single origin espresso.
