According to UrbanYVR, a three-and-a-half storey building is slated for the empty lot on West 4th Avenue where Topanga Cafe stood for 40 years.

The local favourite Mexican restaurant near Macdonald Street was destroyed by fire in July of 2018 along with Euro-Line Appliances and a foot reflexology centre. Several tenants above the Topanga Cafe also lost their homes.

BÜRO47architecture has designed a boutique building for the west side of the site, where the Euro-Line appliances was located.

The Highbury will include two retail units on the ground floor and four residential units above. Four parking spaces and 15 bicycle parking stalls will be included. Read more about the development on UrbanYVR.
