Kitsilano’s Essentia is pleased to present some of local artist Jeff Wilson’s newer works in a show titled Figureworks.

Jeff Wilson is a Scottish-Canadian artist, living & working in Vancouver. His work is immediately recognizable from its combination of vivid colour and dynamic composition. His range includes vehicles, signage, landscape and portraiture, with his greatest inspiration from observed moments in his adopted hometown.

“As an immigrant, I am intrigued by many of the everyday aspects of Canadian life that local people look past”

Figurative work is a fundamental part of his art practice, but is generally on the periphery in public exhibitions. This exhibition bring together a selection of Wilson’s figurative works from Vancouver & across BC for the first time, some of which have never exhibited publicly.

The works are available for viewing through the end of March at the Essentia store on West 4th and you’re invited to an informal closing reception on Saturday, March 30th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
