Kitsilano’s newest taco joint opens this week.

On Thursday, November 1st Cantina Pana will be opening its doors at 1941 Cornwall Avenue in the location formerly occupied by vegetarian restaurant Pitchfork.

Formerly located in Dunbar, Cantina Pana is the sister restaurant to Corduroy next door on Cornwall Avenue as well as Corduroy Pie Co. on West 16th.

Pana, which means Corduroy in Spanish, brings a friendly ambiance to their cozy cabin-style. Rebecca Matthews, owner of Corduroy and Co-founder of Corduroy Pie Company is working with local chef, Timothy Kingston to bring a West Coast style taco shop to the Kits Point strip.

Kingston has worked with many local Kitsilano chefs at Smoking Dog, Chewies, Nuba, Burgoo, and Corduroy for over 20 years.

Diners can expect a thoughtfully concise menu of tacos, burritos, tots, churros, and their signature street corn at the new 25 seat location which will also feature an express window for easy pickup.
